Dave Johnston

Dave is a graduate of the University of Georgia’s Grady School of Journalism. Having been with 960 the Ref as both the Sports Director and Program Director since the early 90s, Dave has been around the UGA sports scene for almost 25 years. Dave has been one of the voices of the University of Georgia baseball team since 2000, and formerly served as the PA announcer for both the men’s and women’s basketball teams. In the fall you can hear him as he hosts a live pre-game talk show with Bulldog fans during the Bulldog Friday Night Show. On game days you can also hear him during the UGA Football pre-game show on 960 The Ref. Dave is also the daily co-host of the 960 The Ref Morning Show from 6am-10am, bringing sports fans four hours of sports talk and a forum for sports enthusiasts and UGA fans to voice their opinion. During his free time, Dave enjoys golfing with friends. He has also served on the board of directors for Hope Haven, which provides services for people with developmental disabilities.
