Jackson Co Schools top 8,000 in enrollment

With their students and teachers settled in for the start of a new school year, officials in Jackson County have a handle on this year's enrollment figures: there are just over 8,300 students in Jackson County schools, with almost 4,000 in Jefferson City schools and 1,700 in schools in the City of Commerce.

The Jackson County Board of Education will hold hearings on September 5, 2019, at 6:00 PM at the Gordon Street Center, located at 441 Gordon Street Jefferson, Georgia, 30549, and September 13, 2019, at 7:30 AM at the Board of Education’s Central Office, located at 1660 Winder Highway, Jefferson, Georgia, 30549, to provide the opportunity for public input on its budget prior to final adoption.
