Traffic notes: rail crossings closed in Athens, I-85 lane closures in Barrow Co

City Hall says the railroad crossings that closed Monday will be closed through Friday, with work on crossings at Jefferson Road and Kathwood Drive near the Athens Country Club.

Drivers through Barrow and Gwinnett counties can look for more lane closures on I-85: the Georgia DOT says work on the Interstate widening project will make for delays on 85 between Highway 211 in Barrow County and Hamilton Mill Road in Gwinnett. The DOT says it’s work that will take place during the overnight hours.
