Cubs shut down Braves to win series finale

The Cubs beat the Braves 7-1 Wednesday night in Atlanta to avoid being swept for the first time this season.

Javier Assad improved to 4-0 on the year as he pitched six scoreless innings.

Charlie Morton suffered the loss for the Braves allowing four runs, three earned, in three innings.
